Which PDF editors can you still buy with a perpetual license?

PDF-XChange, Foxit and Ink all offer or plan true pay-once usage models. Nitro’s current one-time desktop option is a three-year license, while Adobe’s current individual Acrobat lineup is subscription-based.

Perpetual does not necessarily mean free upgrades forever.

This distinction matters. A perpetual license normally means you can keep using the version you bought. It does not automatically mean every future major version is included. PDF-XChange makes the distinction explicit by selling optional maintenance; Ink’s major-version policy still needs to be finalized and published before release.

What is a perpetual PDF editor license?

A perpetual license gives you the right to keep using the licensed software version without recurring payments. Maintenance or future major upgrades may be sold separately.

Which PDF editors still offer perpetual licenses?

PDF-XChange sells perpetual lifetime licenses, Foxit sells PDF Editor 14 as a perpetual one-time license, and Ink Personal is US$99 one-time. Ink Business is US$199 one-time with Send for Signature. Nitro PDF Classic is a fixed three-year license, so it is not perpetual.

Does Adobe Acrobat still have a perpetual license?

Adobe’s current individual Acrobat plans are subscription products. Adobe’s current pricing pages do not offer a new perpetual Acrobat license to individual buyers.
